As you may have learning from our blog in week 5 women are not always so direct in sharing exactly what they are trying to say during communication. Some of that may go back to a general desire to want to involve other people, not cause problems or just try to go with the flow. Unfortunately that usually back fires as we don’t come out and communicate what we really want and then we go back later thinking it was somehow someone else’s fault as to why things are the way they are … or aren’t! Here are some key phrases to look out for in your own language (or in the words of those women close by) to help you navigate our next conversations.
.) FINE: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are done talking and you need to shut up. Once we get to the word fine the woman has given up … for now.
.) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five Minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
.) Nothing: This means something, and you should be on your toes. Don’t ignore this statement… its another invitation to talk about something that is bothering her. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
.) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Proceed carefully.
.) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word and should be addressed. No woman makes a loud sigh for no reason. Go ahead and ask… is everything okay!
.) That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
.) Thanks: A woman is thanking you. Acknowledge it and say you are welcome.
.) Whatever: Something is not right.
.) Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has asked someone else to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This is a sign of frustration and her doing the task herself is a sign of retaliation!
Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they remember the terminology. Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause they know its true
